Magic Bullets

With the absolute lionization of Gerald Ford, for his decision to 'spare' the country the trauma of the rule of law by pardoning Nixon, I think we should also reflect on another time that Ford, the first unelected President of the United States of America, had a hand in protecting the country from the nasty truth.

He was the last surviving member of the Warren Commission.

I remember a joke I heard in Austin in 1994:

What did Lee Harvey Oswald say to Michael Jordan and Larry Byrd?
Okay. Out the window, through the tree, off the grassy knoll, through Connally, nothing but brain.

The Magic Bullet. Brought to you by Your Government. Whose motto is?

Trust us. Our truth will set you at ease.

Mel... You have taught us much on these pages. I know you'll be away from the written blog words for some time, no-one knows how long.

Just be safe and hang in there. We're all your friends. We'll pick up where we left off when you're down in Arkansas.

Great picture by the way. Like to prologue to the old Jack Webb Dragnet show,
The names have been changed to protect the innocent.

Peace to you on your journey

I laughed out loud when I saw that photo, spado...it's a great parody of Ruby shooting Oswald in the basement of the Dallas Police Department's HQ, an image burned in many people's minds.

A friend here today asked me who I thought killed JFK, and I told her point blank, "I have no idea. But I do know the official story is fucked, and always has been."

It's always been interesting to me that many of the characters in the Kennedy assassination saga keep turning up in our steady decent into the scorn of law and honesty.

*******

I'll have to tear down my computer late Wednesday night and pack up the hard drive...at the risk of sounding overly sacreligious, I think I understand how Abraham might have felt when God told him to sacrifice his son...but in my case, there will be a cyberResurrection a few weeks from now. Praise the Lord and pass that over here!

And Jack Ruby was a texan, right? Ran a strip-club, all mobbed-up, catering to the bad tastes of the upperclass? Yeees, I can see Bush going that way if he hadn't had his daddy to bail him time after friggin time.

Mel, you'll be fine. Keep a little diary of your thoughts that you WOULD have posted. Paper & pen still work pretty good. We'll be waiting to read 'em. My, you'll be like a Jacqueline Kerouac, riding though some of the strangest parts of the country to reach your destination. I envy you the things you'll see on your way!

And yes, cyber-resurrection day will be sweet! Take care, D.K.

cheney et al focused in on that particular event because that is why they despised ford. cheney, rummy and wolfowitz felt that the executive branch had been castrated and they have worked for the last 30 years or so to bring tyranny to our republic. they don't get the whole representative democracy thing. i don't think that these last days events were meant to be respectful to ford- he disliked them both immensely. cheney took the opportunity to use this to 'out' his presidency. dubya was nary to be seen. we have to take cheney down and now.

Mel,
Thanks for saying what needed to be said. Not many did. What the fuck is it when people die? Why do we do this? Why don't we explore more when people die who have impacted the state of affairs of the entire country, every living walking human being?

Great photo.

So full of meaning.
